Corn blasting is less conventional then using chemical stain removers or pressure washing, but it is a better option. Unlike chemical removers corn blasting has no negative environmental impact and doesn't change the PH of the wood like chemicals do.
Unlike chemical removers corn blasting has no negative environmental impact, is nontoxic and doesn't change the PH of the wood. Pressure washing uses an astronomical amount of water, which is then polluted and unusable, as well as leaving the wood damp increasing the risk of molds and mildews and rot. Corn blasting media is a renewable resource, completely biodegradable, and compostable.
Corn blasting is the same as sand blasting but with corn. Using corn is better for wood, as it is softer and won't damage or "pit" the wood. Corn blasting leaves the wood in perfect condition to be restained.
Corn blasting can be used to refinish wooden or log homes, aluminium, fiberglass, boats, log cabins, wooden furniture, and steel.
Corn blasting can also be used to remove fire damage.
We also use ground glass to refinish steel items, such as antique vehicles, trailers, truck frames, and tractor parts. The glass removes paint, dirt and rust and leaves a perfect surface for priming. It doesn't warp or pit the metal.
